Principal’s Message

Welcome to Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute (ASMTTI), a centre of excellence in technical and vocational training.

Ahmed S. Mwidani Technical Training Institute (ASMTTI) is managed by a Board of Governors (BOG), which consists of members appointed by the Cabinet Secretary CS) to represent the community, industry, professionals, Principal Secretary and the Governor of the County. The Principal is the Secretary to the Board of Governors. ASMTTI is a public technical and vocational college established under the Ministry of Education State Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training. It is under the 160 technical training institutions spread across the country to constituencies with none.

The institute was completed and registered in the year 2016. It is a technical vocational college though registered as Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute in December 2016.

ASMTTI is providing relevant employable technical and innovative industrial skills for job creation through self-employment.

It operates under the Education Act, TVET Act 2013 and offers curricular developed by Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC), Kenya Institute of curriculum development (KICD), National Industrial Training Authority, KASNEB, among others.

The college is located in Mombasa County Changamwe, Sub-County. ASMTTI offers courses at Artisan, Craft and Diploma levels, plus a variety of short-courses in the part-time program. ASMTTI is a member of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) and CAPA amongst others. Ahmed S. Mwidani Technical Training Institute started its operations in September 2017.

Our vision is to be a world class centre of excellence in technical and vocational training and our core mandate is to train skill oriented workforce that is suitable for further professional development through quality competency based technical and vocational programs which are responsive to national and global industrial productivity. We shall achieve this through consultation and collaboration with all key stakeholders in technical training.

 

The college has a very strong board of Governors with excellent professional balance with representation of the ministry, the county and key professional areas including Financial management, engineering, technology, Information communication technology and industry.

 

Our prospective trainees are advised to apply through Kenya Universities and colleges central placement service (KUCCPS) through their website www.kuccps.ac.ke though direct applications to the college will still processed.
